Skylar Naron, LPC (she/her)

I’m Skylar, and I’m a therapist who specializes in sex therapy. I work with individuals and couples; with a focus on ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous relationship structures. I enjoy helping people expand sexual satisfaction, self-compassion, and improve their relationship with their bodies. My therapeutic work has centered around supporting those who experience: pain with sex, erectile disappointment, sexual performance anxiety, religious sexual shame, mismatch desire, and gender/sexuality distress. A focal point of my therapeutic research is studying the particular set of challenges we as women and queer people face in our society. In the safe container of therapy, we’ll practice things like embodiment, consent/ boundary setting, intentional communication, pleasure advocacy, vulnerability, and self-security.

I hope to empower clients to let go of negative thought patterns, and toxic cultural messages to adopt new and affirming beliefs about themselves. Through an integrative and holistic approach, I offer strategies from a variety of therapeutic models including: internal family systems therapy, narrative therapy, Imago relationship therapy, existential therapy, and feminist theory. I believe in the liberating power of scientifically accurate sex and body education. In session, I bring genuine curiosity, empathetic understanding, and a grounding presence so you can feel safe exploring all parts of yourself. I especially enjoy when sessions can include moments of shared laughter, coffee, and surprise pet interruptions.

If you’ve read this far, maybe you’d like to know a little more about me as a person outside of my work as a therapist. I’m queer,  introverted, witchy, and vegan(ish). I live on a family homestead in the Hill Country with my partner, dog, and three cats. We share the land with horses, honeybees, and many, many chickens who you will occasionally hear in the background. Self care for me includes intentional movement, creativity, time spent outdoors, animal companions, and gabbing with the gal pals. I deeply appreciate the simple joys of a good book, good food, and a good day of thrifting. I’m also an artist and I’m happy to incorporate creative processing tools with clients who share the interest.

I have my Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have over six years of therapeutic experience and training in sex therapy. I’m currently accepting new private pay or insurance clients who are 18+. I offer free 15 minute phone consultations to prospective clients. I’d love to chat for a bit to hear more about what’s bringing you to therapy and answer any questions you have.
